Fig and Olive Oil: The perfect fall pairing
September 23, 2020
As summer fades, it’s time to transition from light summer salads to new autumn recipes, combining seasonal produce, indulgence, and 18:1 Olive Oil.
This September, we’re focusing on the fig! Why?
- Nutritional Benefits: Figs are rich in fiber, minerals, and antioxidants.
- Cultural Roots: The fig tree is one of the cornerstones of Mediterranean culture, alongside the olive tree and vine.
- Versatile in Cooking: Figs work wonderfully in both sweet and savory recipes.
- Peak Season: Now is the perfect time to enjoy figs at their best!
Here are a few simple and delicious pairing ideas to try at home:
Burrata with Fresh Figs: Combine a creamy burrata with ripe figs, a touch of coriander, and a drizzle of 18:1 Picual Olive Oil. This was the dish featured at BEAM Kitchen!, the restaurant at Le Télégraphe in Toulon, as part of their new menu. A must-try!

Grilled Bread with Fresh Cheese and Figs: Try toasted seed or whole grain bread, spread with fresh cheese, topped with sliced figs, and finished with a generous drizzle of 18:1 Arbequina Bio Olive Oil. For an extra indulgence, add a few slices of ham. A perfect balance of freshness, crunch, sweetness, and richness!
