In the food industry, the trend towards bulk sales is growing. More eco-friendly and economical, it is expanding among professionals, distributors, restaurateurs, and individual consumers alike.
At Alexis Muñoz, respect for nature is at the heart of what we do. That’s why we have chosen to develop an innovative solution for selling our olive oil in bulk.

Alexis Muñoz Commits to Bulk Olive Oil Sales

First, it’s important to know that olive oil is subject to strict regulations, particularly regarding packaging. This made bulk sales nearly impossible until recently.

Bulk Olive Oil Sales and Regulations

The demand for bulk purchasing is rising, driven by an increasingly strong environmental awareness. Organic stores have been the pioneers in popularizing this sales model. However, bulk sales were primarily limited to cereals, pasta, legumes, and dried fruits until now.

With recent regulatory updates, merchants authorized by France Agrimer are now allowed to sell olive oil in bulk, provided they follow strict guidelines. They are required to offer containers no larger than 5 liters for individual customers, and professionals can purchase containers of up to 10 liters. Our 18:1 BIO olive oils are available in specialty organic stores, where we equip them with neck collars to display mandatory legal information. Additionally, we offer reusable opaque 500ml glass bottles for customers wishing to refill. Our 18:1 "Bag in Box" Olive Oil: Designed with the Environment in Mind. For professionals, our 10-liter packaging offers an innovative solution. It’s important to note that not all "Bag in Box" (BIB) packaging is yet 100% recyclable, but we are working with manufacturers to improve the recyclability of the internal pouches. The outer carton, which protects the pouch, is made of 100% recycled and recyclable material. The cap is made of food-grade PET, which will eventually be fully recyclable.
The rectangular shape of our packaging is also optimized for easy storage. Whether in restaurant kitchens or on store shelves, it can be conveniently placed in cupboards or on shelves, saving space.

Bulk Olive Oil for Eco-Responsible Consumption

For Alexis Muñoz, adopting an eco-responsible approach has always been a core principle. We’ve already used recyclable containers, but bulk sales allow us to take our commitment even further and respond to new consumer expectations:

•    Reducing waste by allowing customers to choose the exact quantity they need
•    Cutting down on packaging and reducing waste production
•    Offering a more economical solution for consumers

By embracing this approach, we are also fulfilling our mission more than ever: to make exceptional olive oil accessible to as many people as possible. Transparency and a continuous pursuit of quality remain at the heart of everything we do.

A Step for the Planet, But Always Quality First:

While developing this bulk solution, we have ensured that quality remains uncompromised. The internal pouch that holds the olive oil is vacuum-sealed, helping prevent oxidation, which can affect the oil’s taste. The "Stop Drip" pourer cap minimizes spillage and guarantees better preservation.
Additionally, the production processes for our olive oils are consistent with those used for all our products. Olives are harvested at their optimal maturity according to their variety and the desired organoleptic properties. Furthermore, our olive groves are located near the mill, reducing the time between harvest and milling. We also maintain strict control over the mill temperature, ensuring it stays well below the minimum required. Finally, our olive juice is kept away from light throughout the entire production process, from milling to bottling.
