Pan-Fried Tomatoes with Olive Oil, Garlic & Basil
When tomatoes are perfectly ripe, you don't need much to create a plate full of sunshine.
A few ripe tomatoes, garlic, fresh basil, a creamy burrata and, above all, a characterful extra virgin olive oil: Picual 18:1.
Fresh, vegetal and vibrant, with distinctive tomato leaf notes, Picual 18:1 naturally complements ripe tomatoes and brings extra depth to this simple recipe.
Ingredients
- 4 to 5 ripe tomatoes
- 2 garlic cloves
- Fresh basil
- 1 burrata
- Fleur de sel
- Black pepper
- Picual 18:1 extra virgin olive oil
Preparation
1. Warm the olive oil with the garlic.
Pour a generous drizzle of Picual 18:1 into a pan and gently sauté the garlic.
2. Add the tomatoes.
Cut the tomatoes and add them to the pan.
3. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes.
Let the tomatoes cook gently until they become soft and slightly caramelised.
4. Add the basil.
Remove from the heat, add fresh basil leaves and season with fleur de sel and black pepper.
5. Serve.
Enjoy with toasted bread or serve alongside a creamy burrata.
